New THETIDA Mission: Monitoring the B-24 Liberator Wreck in the Algarve

Algarve, July 2026 - A new field mission within the THETIDA project - in partnership with the University of Algarve, and Centro Ciência Viva do Algarve - focused on monitoring the wreck of a B-24 Liberator (PB4Y-1), a US Navy aircraft from the Second World War and today a site of significant historical and environmental value.

MTCOM Project Sea Trials Successfully Completed at the Port of La Spezia

La Spezia, 17 February 2026 - The MTCOM (Marine Terrestrial Communications) project, co-financed by the Regional Programme – ERDF Liguria 2021-2027, aims to develop advanced technological solutions to support safer, more sustainable and more efficient port operations. On 17 February, sea trials at the Port of La Spezia successfully validated autonomous monitoring units connected through a private 5G network.
