We have reached a significant milestone for EdgeLab and for technological innovation applied to underwater research and exploration: the official delivery of the U_Tracker® Autonomous Underwater Vehicle to the Superintendency of the Sea of the Sicilian Region, following a two-day training program.

The training included both theoretical and practical sessions. On the first day, we conducted a classroom workshop to illustrate the key features and technical capabilities of the AUV, with a special focus on the simplicity and intuitiveness of its Graphic User Interface (GUI). The second day was dedicated to a sea trial, during which operators successfully tested U_Tracker® in real conditions, collecting data using both the onboard video camera and side scan sonar.

This moment represents much more than a simple technical handover: it marks a concrete step toward a new way of exploring and protecting our submerged heritage, through the integration of scientific research, advanced technology, and operational expertise.

U_Tracker® is not just a tool—it’s a valuable ally in pushing knowledge deeper, into places beyond the reach of the human eye. We are proud to have contributed to enhancing the exploratory capabilities of those who work every day to preserve the historical memory hidden beneath the sea.
